Proofreading Chart
Proofreading is a necessary and important part of newspaper writing. Information published should be as accurate and as neat as possible. When you proofread, first determine which words or changes need to be made. Next, circle the word or area. Then write the proper proofing symbol next to the circled word. Some symbols have been created to help you indicate what changes need to be made. Cut out this chart and paste it into your notebook. Keep it handy when proofreading your work.
