The Human Rights 101 Web site organizes a lot of the stuff you need to get active locally in international human rights. It can help you focus your interests, research specific areas, develop projects of your own, take a look at what other people are doing, find metropolitan New York-area internship or volunteer opportunities… whatever you want.

Not sure where to begin? Why not start here:

HR 101 Profile
In this interactive part of the site, you can read and respond to little stories about human rights conflicts. If you do it right, you'll end up finding out what grabs you, rights-wise, and you'll find out how to start getting involved in human rights.

Resources
Look here for great PBS programs, Web sites and print that will teach you everything you could ever possibly want to know about human rights.

Get Involved
This is a great part of the site - it tells you about 25 metropolitan New York-area organizations that have special internship or volunteer programs for teens.

Teen Projects
This is where we tell you what kinds of human rights projects we're working with. Find out which schools and which projects are in this.

Human Rights & You
You're there. This section has 3 pages: "What Are Human Rights?" "About This Project" and "About This Site" (which is what you're looking at). Together, these pages offer an overview of international human rights issues, a description of the metropolitan New York-area outreach program and a site overview.

Teacher Toolkit
This page has downloadable materials for teachers, to help support the Human Rights 101 Project in their schools. It's meant for teachers, but of course anyone can enjoy this very special page.

This is where we get to write our names and be very proud.
