Human Rights 101 challenges teens in the metropolitan New York area to look at human rights issues. Combining screenings of public television programs, guest speakers, a toolkit for teachers, and a companion Web site, Human Rights 101 helps you get ready for life in a post-9/11 global society. It also helps you understand how you can take a shot at shaping what's happening in the world today.

Each year, Thirteen/WNET, New York City's flagship PBS station, offers 14 metropolitan New York-area schools grants of $1,000 to support student-created, student-led human rights projects. (Find out more about what those projects look like at Teen Projects.) Students work on whatever interests themů and they get lots of PBS videos and resources in the bargain.
