Rod Coppola, Thirteen's transmitter engineer at the World Trade Center.
As a member of the WNET Engineering staff since 1985, Rod is not only a familiar and valued part of the Thirteen family, but also well-known to many within the Engineering community in New York and throughout PBS.
With each passing day our concern grows more intensely for the comfort and well being of Rod's wife, Alice, their four children, Rod's dad, brother, sister, and all of their family. The pain and turmoil that they are bearing is unimaginable, and our heartfelt and deepest sympathy are with them. We stand as one with Rod's family in great compassion, support, and love. Our thoughts and prayers are that they may begin to find peace, understanding, and strength in the face of this horrible tragedy.
In this spirit of caring for Rod's family we have initiated The Coppola Family Benefit Fund. We invite all that share our concern for the Coppola family to contribute. We have already heard from many Thirteen staff and our colleagues at various PBS stations throughout the country that are interested in contributing. All contributions will be gratefully accepted.
