We’re also serving up documentaries on America’s first foodie, and the science behind food.

American Masters: James Beard: America’s First Foodie

Today’s American food movement can be traced back to one man: cookbook author, journalist, television celebrity and teacher James Beard. Watch here.

Food – Delicious Science

From a home base at the UK’s leading food lab, this three-part series takes viewers on a savory global journey with hosts Dr. Michael Mosley, a physician and PBS veteran documentarian with an interest in dietary science, and James Wong, a botanist whose childhood in the jungles of Borneo sparked a lifelong passion for plants and their uses. The pair travels the world to explore how the hidden chemistry in every mouthful of food contributes to the nourishment and building of the human body. Watch the three–part series here.

Pride Month

For Gay Pride month we’d like to pay tribute to Vicious, the outstanding comedy series starring two literal Knights of British theater and film.

Vicious

Sirs Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi star as romantic partners who bicker so much they make the Golden Girls seem like Care Bears. Vicious tells the story of Freddie (Ian McKellen) and Stuart (Derek Jacobi), who have lived together and sniped at one another in a small central London flat for nearly 50 years. Underneath their vicious, co-dependent fighting, they have a deep love for one another. The couple is often joined by feisty best friend Violet (Frances de la Tour, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Ash (Iwan Rheon, Game of Thrones), their young, upstairs neighbor.
