THIRTEEN boarded the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum to learn about the aircraft carrier’s involvement in the Vietnam War. Jessica Williams, Curator of History and Collections, spoke with host Madeline Orton about the carrier’s three tours of duty in the Vietnam War, the pilots and crew who shared their oral histories and personal artifacts with the museum—including clothing worn as a POW—and how one lands a plane on that short runway! The museum’s exhibition On the Line: Intrepid and the Vietnam War is open through October 1. Now is the perfect time to visit as The Vietnam War documentary by filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick continues on PBS.

Look out for more Facebook Live events on THIRTEEN’s Facebook page.
