PBS is the big winner at EMMY Awards

THIRTEEN is proud to be part of PBS, which won 12 awards—more than any other broadcast, cable and broadband entity—at the 38th annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards on October 5, 2017. The Emmy Awards were presented during a ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.

Among the winners are WNET’s own Nature series, which won a News and Documentary Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for Super Hummingbirds. Using the latest high-speed cameras and other technologies, Super Hummingbirds reveals new scientific breakthroughs about these magical tiny birds. Watch the full episode.

With 46 nominations, PBS also had the most of any media entity; programs with multiple nominations included FRONTLINE (12), POV (11), INDEPENDENT LENS (10), NATURE (3), PBS NewsHour (2).
