June 20th, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Last week on Reel 13, you voted on films that featured a Hindu girl with a craving for communion wafers, a young graffiti artist, and a little girl’s life-changing moment. Now find out which film won.

Winner: Sweet Jesus
A young Hindu girl with a sweet tooth for communion wafers is misunderstood at her all-Catholic elementary school. Directed by Swati Kapila.

“Sweet Jesus” will air Saturday, June 21 on Thirteen between the Reel 13 classic and Reel 13 indie films.

Congratulations is also in order for last week’s runners up.

First runner up: Zoe’s Day
It’s a day that will shape her adult life — a childhood moment that will re-define her family’s history. “Zoe’s Day” chronicles what should have been a typical afternoon for seven-year-old Zoe and her dad. Directed by Rebecca Gwynne.

Second runner up: Tracks of Color
A coming of age story about a Latino boy and his family set against the backdrop of a group of celebrated graffiti artists known as the Tats Crew. Characters, as colorful as the art they create, come to life as the world of graffiti once again gains popularity and influences the young boy, changing his life forever. As his art becomes the focus of his life, he challenges his father and rejects the life that his parents have laid out for him. Directed by Gianna Palminteri.
