After 33 years, Roger Ebert will be leaving his syndicated program “At the Movies”, and Richard Roeper, his co-host since Gene Siskel died in 1999, is also leaving the program. Ebert had been sporadically absent from the program for the last 2 years while battling cancer.

Siskel and Ebert began their career on TV with “Sneak Previews” in 1975, a PBS program.

The parent company, Disney/ABC, is bringing in E! Entertainment critic Ben Lyons and Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz as host replacements. Ben Lyons is the son of movie critic Jeffrey Lyons, who hosted “Sneak Previews” after Ebert left _that_ show in 1982.
