Mission Accomplished?
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Nearly five years after President Bush declared “mission accomplished” in Iraq, General Petraeus is testifying to Congress today regarding the current state of the war.

In 1973, Thirteen went to Times Square to hear the opinions of the general public as President Nixon announced the ceasefire in Vietnam and the comments ring just as loudly regarding our current conflict.

Watch the rest of the 51st State episode after the ceasefire declaration at Video Thirteen.

Coverage of General Petraeus’ testimony: CNN, New York Times, MSNBC.
