Walk Through “Darwin’s Garden”
Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Rafael Pi Roman hosts a half-hour look at 2008’s major exhibition at The New York Botanical Garden chronicling Charles Darwin’s lifelong fascination with plants and flowers. It was called “Darwin’s Garden: a Evolutionary Adventure.” While few people know about Darwin’s deep interest in botany, it played a powerful role in shaping his ideas. This show features an interview with Pulitzer-Prize-winning biologist and author Dr. Edward O. Wilson about Darwin’s legacy; a walk through the Botanical Garden’s re-creation of his personal garden; a look at a gallery of papers, manuscripts, and plants that tell a professional biography of the father of evolution; and a children’s exhibit that’s introducing kids to Darwin’s theories.
