Dolphins at War

This weekend, while you honor America’s men and women in uniform, take a moment to show your appreciation for dolphins as well. Since the late 1950s, the U.S. Navy has used these smart and easy to train mammals to guard ships and search for mines. Many served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. Recently, several Navy dolphins helped find, mark, and clear mines from a key port during the war in Iraq. Learn more.
