The Bush administration has refused to commit public money to help settle a housing crisis in which millions of Americans are expected to lost their homes through foreclosure.The White House expressed strong opposition to the Senate housing bill, saying it “will likely do more harm than good by bailing out lenders and speculators, and passing on costs to other Americans who play by the rules and honor their mortgage debt obligations.”
As Congress prepares for a flurry of housing legislation, NOW travels to North Minneapolis to investigate the mortgage meltdown that has left the city scarred with abandoned houses.
