Some might argue that the global financial crisis started in New York. But whether the heart of the problem is on Main Street or on Wall Street, it is clear that the heart of the New York economy, the financial industry, has changed forever. Zanny Minton Beddoes, The Economist’s global economics editor, hosts a conversation with New York Governor David Paterson about the impact the crisis on New York’s economy, on the appropriate role for government to play in regulating the financial industry, and how to avoid the next crisis. This event was held by The Economist, and runs 53 minutes.

I heard that there will be a forum wth the honorable governor PAtterson and that we could send questions in.
My question would be “why did he increase public school spending by 1.8 billion dollars and take away 17 million dollars of aid to Catholic schools.
I don’t think that the public schools will miss 17 million off of the 1.8 billion increase.
What do you think?
NYS MUST not exceed spending over income. Borrowing is NOT a solution for anything.
If the governor is so set in cutting expenses- Why doesn’t he cut his own expenses to New York state- His own finances! and if not –
Why can’t he do it?
