Vote ‘08: The New York Choice — watch online
Friday, October 24th, 2008

For the first time in decades on Election Day, New York Democrats may take control of all three branches of state government. With a new governor, and the massive fallout from the Wall Street meltdown, the stakes are high. Budget cuts, the power of unions, education spending, same-sex marriages, and an overhaul of the voting districts throughout the state are all on the table.

This is a state-wide look at some of the decisive State Senate races and the critical issues that will be affected if this shift in power occurs. With reports from other public television stations across New York, this special will examine a variety of topics, including the state’s struggling economy and its continuing budget woes. The program is hosted by New York Voices’ Rafael Pi Roman and New York Now’s Susan Arbetter.
