Here’s a schedule of upcoming election-related programming on PBS, September to October. PBS is the source for *all* of the Presidential and VP debates and discussions. Some coverage will be watchable online.

Discussion on Volunteerism in America
Sept. 11, 8:00 pm ET
Thirteen will air the ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum live from Columbia University, where John McCain and Barack Obama will discuss volunteer service issues.

Presidential Debates:

    First presidential debate
    September 26, 9-11pm ET

      Location: The University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS
      Moderator: Jim Lehrer, NewsHour
      Anchor: Ray Suarez, NewsHour
      Format: Seated, moderated debate, focus on domestic policy, divided into 10-minute segments


    Vice-Presidential Debate
    October 2, 9-11pm ET

      Location: Washington University in St. Louis, MO
      Moderator: Gwen Ifill, NewsHour and Washington Week
      Anchor: Jim Lehrer, NewsHour
      Format: Seated, moderated debate, focus on both domestic and foreign policy


    Second Presidential Debate
    October 7, 9-11pm ET

      Location: Belmont University, Nashville, TN
      Moderator: Tom Brokaw, NBC News
      Anchor: Jim Lehrer, NewsHour
      Format: Town meeting, with an audience of undecided Nashville area voters chosen by Gallup posing the questions; moderator may pose questions from online participants.

    Third Presidential Debate
    October 15, 9-11pm ET

      Location: Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
      Moderator: Bob Schieffer, CBS News and Face the Nation
      Anchor: Jim Lehrer, NewsHour
      Format: Seated, moderated debate, focus on foreign policy, divided into 10-minute segments, with time reserved at the end for closing statements.

Each debate is 90 minutes long, followed by a half-hour NewsHour special with analysis by Shields and Brooks, an NPR reporter and a voter panel.
