A Look Back — 2000 Florida Recount — Implications Today?
Friday, May 23rd, 2008

While Sen. Hillary Clinton wants all of the votes to count in Florida (which would give her a significant lead in the popular vote) it’s a good time to take a look back at the Florida recount from the 2000 election and see what we can learn from the highly-contested battle that culminated in the Bush vs. Gore Supreme Court decision.

In the new, highly-anticipated HBO film that debuts at 9 p.m. on May 25 about the controversial 2000 Florida Recount, some prominent former advisers to Al Gore say the film unfairly blames the democrats for the failure to secure the White House, according to The New York Times.

We decided to take a look at some of the Democrats and Republicans portrayed in the film “Recount” and see what they had to say on NewsHour in 2000:

Ron Klain (played by Kevin Spacey), Gore’s Recount Point Man on NewsHour
