A Conversation With Senator Raymond Lesniak
Sunday, May 4th, 2008
A conversation with Sen. Raymond Lesniak, Democrat from the 20th District. Elected to the Assembly in 1977 and to the State Senate in 1983, Lesniak served as State Democratic Chairman from 1992 to 1994. He has long been known as one of New Jersey’s major power brokers, and he’s one of the few Democratic leaders supporting U.S. Rep. Robert Andrew’s challenge to Sen. Frank Lautenberg. He recently led the fight to make New Jersey the first state to repeal the death penalty in over 40 years and has recently published a book about that effort entitled, The Road to Abolition. Originally aired 5/3/2008.
