I think that his comments are stupid. unrealistic and everything against what the president has promised the disabled and the poor and not trying to get away from the responsibility but we all been giving all our lives now we down because of illnesses then the medications needed to try to get better are not being paid by medicare and then they want to change society from being dependent of their dumb services but yet they fail to provided the proper coverages to help people get better to be able to succeed and not be dependent of them so how are they helping ??? how does he figure that we are just trying to live off the system when the system them selves keep us here and stop us from getting better due to lack of health care and on top of that if this government continues this i see what my father foretold when he was alive he experienced the last depression back in the days and he said if things keep going the way they are we will see a national civil war when people are not going to want this government anymore we are told how to take care of our kids and discipline them but then they hurt families because children become the problem and not the solution parents today are afraid to even have kids because of this we say we live in the land of the free but do we??? we are constantly told what to or not to do if not we go to jail the amendment of the right to speak our minds has been washed and not respected our forefather gave laws and freedom and lives for what we call democracy yet where is it ?? when a person has the right to rule or like we say where i come from play with our money … tell me how me a father who is disabled and now finding himself reversing roles with wife to carry touch to help us survive because i am sick and on top of this we live like crap our laws fails the innocent and prosecute the the innocent and glorify the guilty the jail system is a businessmen and they make money off those the in jail wow what a world we live in but yet we give other country’s billions for repair for our destruction this governor has forgotten where he came from and like many like this man they make a life off the poor and they help those is the system to take advantage of uneducated families and they blame their parents and them when the true problem is the system wow what kind of non sense is this how long does humanity have to suffer how can we say in god we trust ?how do we show in god we trust hell we got churches telling us that we are not allowed to help anyone more then once hell Rochester NY is in hell our kids education is hurting and nothing being done to make better oh my god give me the chance to talk and i can tell you stories of things that just make no sense i feel we need to put this man in front of someone like myself and let him weasel out of the questions hey yes i do understand the misspending can be scary hell its no different then misspending in a family verses a state but tightening something that is chocking makes no sense does it????
The Governor keeps talking about the disastrous financial crisis that we are facing but if he checks his own administration there is still alot of wasteful dollars being mismanaged. Governor, I will give you a budget plan that will really reduce your deficit by half.
-begin within your own agencies. To this day, regardless of all his talk about the deficit, state agencies are still wasting money without any purposeful reason. If he really wants to see a change, Govenor, needs to implement a system where workers can feel free to report waste when it is happening within their agency without repercussion. I don’t care what they say that a person can make a report of waste within the state and be protected. Any state employee knows that if he makes any complaint he WILL be punished one way or another. Therefore, a system should be in place where the person can make the report anonymously and the agency receiving the report must follow through with the complaint for truthfulness in the report. This anonymous system can reduce corruption since they will not be known who will be making a complaint about waste in the system.
The above comment by Ms. Myers is absolutely correct. There is a great deal of waste and abuse in the State of New York.Across the board cuts are useless. He must look at certain agencies where there is a great deal of waste and abuse. It is extremely difficult to move permanent employees from one agency to another. It is even difficult to move employees from one department to another in the same agency. The Personnel departments have little or no power. There is still the issue of the immense corruption of the State Police which has been reported extensively in the media in regards to “alleged” Rogue high level officials connected to the former Pataki administration using the police force to spy on policitians, reporters, state workers and whistleblowers. There was the issue of the 911 enhancement tax money which was diverted by the former Pataki administration.Hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars may have been wasted at just this one agency.Governor Paterson was originally very upset about the situation with the State Police but has lately been silent. The above comments about whistleblowers are absolutely correct.Anyone who complains about waste and corruption will be targeted. The Unions are not interested. The Shop stewards are taught to not make waves with the management. If it is purely personal they “may” help the employee if they are permanent. This is why people do not complain. Those who do complain are targeted and sometimes in a ruthless manner. You may remember the scandal regarding Ms.Freund reported in the New York Post. She simply complained to co-workers about people going to Mrs. Pataki’s prayer breakfast and not charging their time. There is also the immense issue of state worker contributions to their pensions which was eliminated in 2000 for those with ten years of service. That means that after ten years of service state workers do not contribute anything towards their pension. This is immensely unfair to the majority of New Yorkers who have no pension at all.Governor Patterson should clean his own broom closet.
