“The Electric Company” is back! Sesame Workshop has brought back the hit show from the ’70s and revamped it. The look and feel is new, but the program has the same goal as the original series: teaching literacy skills. The show airs weekly, every Friday at 4:30 pm. See video previews below!

I watched the original Electric Company as a kid. I saw it on 1-19-09 for the whole two hours, it was really good. I know the attention span of a child is short and I like how you keep everything short and sweet much like the way I teach. I am a 1st grade teacher and I think my students would like the Electric Company and learn a lot from it. I need to know when and what time it will be on in the Bronx, NY? Did you only make the 4 episodes that I saw on the 19th or will there be others? Please e-mail me back.

This show was awesome! My kids loved it and by the end of the show were singing the songs! The group of kids called the “Electric Company” do a gret job. The show is like a mini movie and it teaches so much! I especially loved the short carnival segment of “S” with the carousel.

[...] “What’s an education system without profiteers? No education system at all!” says this stock tout, who notes ”unemployment is a cash cow” for investors in education stocks. Charming…..Washington State schools chief Randy Dorn said he would do away with the WASL and replace it with two better, shorter, less-expensive exams. One week into the job, he’s doing just that……All your speech are belong to us!  A U.S. District court has ruled a school was within its rights when it disciplined a student for an Internet post she wrote when not on school grounds…..If you’re over 35, you rememberThe Electric Company on PBS.  It’s back on the air. It’s now March 10, 2009. When is the next Electric Company episode going to be on in NYC? Will it be on WNET? What day? What time?

Thanks, Lalalou

I am very excited to see the return of this show. I am a child care provider and the show is very captivating to my children. Television is very limited at my facility and while the children wait for their parents it really keeps their attention and is a great way to learn. I called all my friends to tell them about the return and some of my friends remembered and some didnt.
