Watch ‘Campaign’, An Insider’s View of Japanese Electioneering
Friday, September 5th, 2008

Campaign follows Kazuhiko Yamauchi as he pursues the time-honored Japanese campaign practice of “bowing to everybody” (”even to telephone poles!” an advisor demands) in his run for a key city council seat in Japan. Equipping himself as a one-man film crew, Kazuhiro Soda embarked on an experiment in “observational film” as he followed Yamauchi on the campaign trail for 12 hectic days in October 2005. Watch. (Originally aired: 7/29/2008).
