The fake news program, The Colbert Report, first aired on Comedy Central on October, 17, 2005. Along with The Daily Show, The Colbert Report has developed something of a “cult following” and an influence that goes way beyond its viewership. The show is modeled after TV talk shows such as The O’Reilly Factor and other news programs. The satirical program is reveling in the presidential election and enjoying record ratings, as well as a recent Emmy nod for Best Writing. Check out the first show on Colbert Nation.
