On October 1, 2000, one of the most notorious gangsters of the 20th century, Reginald “Reggie” Kray, died in his sleep, at the age of 66. Reggie and his twin brother Ronnie controlled the foremost gang in London during the 1950s and 1960s. The Krays were jailed for murder in 1969 and sentenced to life for the murders of Jack “The Hat” McVitie and George Cornell. Despite their feared reputations, the Krays had a number of celebrity friends.
