New York Teens Shoot Documentary About WWII Homefront

OVER HERE is a half-hour documentary made by six local high school students about the WWII homefront as seen through the eyes of New Yorkers who were themselves teenagers at the time. It was was commissioned by Thirteen as part of the outreach effort for THE WAR, and produced under the guidance of Reel Works Teen Filmmaking.

enjoyed the entire film as it brought back memories of my youth during the war. I am now 79 years old and it seems like yesterday when I lived through those times. Thank you.
Execellent documentary. It would be great to have this documentary on televsion to reach more people.
BRAVO! Excellent film. I had tears in my eyes on more than 1 occasion. Very heartfelt and edifying. You obviously made the participants feel comfortable enough to tell their stories un-selfconsciously. It flowed smoothly, with the mix of stories and archival clips as professional as any WWII documentary you might see on the History or Military Channels. Again, well done.
Wow- usually I’m kinda bored by history, but this is a really great short film! Really! Definitely a unique angle, teenagers interviewing someone about their teenage years.
What a gorgeous and moving view of history through the eyes of some extraordinary eyewitnesses. It was very informative and very touching.
Excellent documentary. I interviewed a WWII vet who was involved in the d-day invasion when I was in high school. It’s so great to capture these stories before they are lost. Keep up the good work!
