Holocaust Remembrance Day: Brana Gurewitsch on Rebelling Women under Nazi Rule
Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Historian Gurewitsch recounts harrowing and inspiring stories of resistance and rebellion in the camps, taken from her compendium of oral histories, Mothers, Sisters, Resistors. Her talk is as part of this panel on women’s roles during the Holocaust, which also includes the words of Holocaust survivor Fanya Gottesfeld Heller and historian Joan Ringleheim. Gurewitsch’s portion of the panel begins at 73:25, and goes to the end of the video.

This is taken from the The Ninth Annual Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Conference for Educators, which took place on March 18, 2008, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
