The city of Calgary recently blocked a deal to sell one of the few WWII-era de Havilland Mosquito warplanes remaining in Canada.

Directors of the Calgary Aero Space Museum had plans to sell the historic bomber, known as “F for Freddie”, to a private British collector, but an influential aviation buff convinced the city that the plane had priceless historical value.
