Thirteen’s College Internship Program offers a unique way for interested students to obtain valuable on-the-job exposure to an industry that is typically difficult to enter. The purpose of the program is to provide qualifying students with valuable entry-level employment experience that is closely related to their academic and/or career goals in broadcast communications industry in particular, or to business administration in general. This affords them the opportunity to strengthen and refine a number of primary skills that are critical in today’s highly competitive job market. In turn, the students complement Thirteen’s work force with a fresh perspective and dependability, which serve to support the effective operation of the station.
Although the start and end dates for each session of the CIP are specific, individual start dates can vary. Sessions may overlap from one season into the next as long as interns are limited to 5 months. A time limit of three to five months will be enforced in order to give the internship opportunity to new applicants each season, as positions are limited.
